Brown Wasp pulls you into the funny, self-deprecating world of Sarah St. John, a Canadian woman in the throes of an edgy inner journey through illness, healing and redemption.

Sarah, with husband in tow, travels to Manitou Springs, Saskatchewan, hoping for a cure in the spa’s restorative waters. Sarah’s reflections on the horrors of disease and her ravaged physical body are both wickedly funny and beautifully evocative. 

Performer Megan McArton is “seamless, stirring, a joy to behold” .(Rory Runnells, Winnipeg Free Press) Brown Wasp, by Meah Martin, was the winner of the Canadian National Playwriting Competition award for a one-act play in 2000. Recently the play has been updated for a 2023 audience and is now a fringe favourite, touring the festival circuit.
